Bronski Beat were a hugely important group. They weren’t, by definition, a Scottish act. But frontman Jimmy Somerville is from these parts and I’m always happy to feature them here.

THE NEW VINYL VILLAIN 
As a gay man, this played a big part of life in the early eighties. The singles first and then The Age of Consent was bought and changed my outlook on life completely.
I’d like to think they changed the views and understanding of many people, gay or otherwise.
